Petrochemical exports over $6bn in 3 months
TEHRAN, Jun. 27 (MNA) – The value of Iran’s exports of petrochemical products and gas condensates exceeded six billion dollars in the first quarter of the current Iranian year (March 21-June 22).
As a major oil exporter, Iran plans to increase its petrochemical exports to $12 billion this year.
The country has significantly expanded the range and volume of its petrochemical production over the past few years, IRNA reported.
Iran's exports of gas condensates and petrochemicals increased by 40 percent in the first ten months of the last Iranian year (March 21, 2014-January 21, 2015) compared to the corresponding period last year.
“Iran has earned over 12.1 billion dollars by selling gas condensate during the period while it obtained 8.5 billion dollars from gas condensate exports within the same period last year,” Head of the Management and Planning Organization Mohammad Bagher Nobakht said.
